Empowering the LGBTQ+ Community: 5 Alive's Commitment to Equity and Inclusion

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and changing social landscapes, 5 Alive Development Community-Based Organization emerged as a beacon of hope, dedicated to tackling urgent issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community in Gilgil, Nakuru, and Narok County, Kenya. Founded in 2020 and officially registered in 2023, 5 Alive has been steadfast in its mission to create a more equitable and inclusive society.

Driven by a deep commitment to promoting equality and fair treatment, 5 Alive's focus areas include HIV prevention and management, improving access to healthcare services, and preventing gender-based violence within the LGBTQ+ community. Through their continuous efforts and dedication, they have made a significant impact on the lives of many individuals and families.

Despite the challenges faced, 5 Alive remains unwavering in its efforts to fight for the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals. By providing a range of resources and assistance, including support groups and counseling services, they have created a safe and supportive space for the community. Their work serves as a beacon of hope, reminding everyone that they are not alone in their struggles.

Advocacy

Through our advocacy projects, such as community seminars, workshops, and paralegal trainings, we aim to empower communities by increasing their knowledge of their rights and encouraging their active participation in voicing their desires and needs. Our commitment lies in championing causes that are of utmost significance to our community. Our primary mission is to empower and amplify the voices of those who have been unheard, while actively working towards achieving equality and justice for all. Advocacy & Youth Engagement

5 Alive Development Organization is a non-profit dedicated to empowering youth and marginalized communities in Nakuru and Narok counties. Established in 2020 and registered in 2023, our vision is to advocate for the well-being of young people aged 15–24 through several key initiatives.
